Recognised for their unique aesthetic and energetic live performances, SLIPKNOT took their first steps in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995. From an early stage, the collective stood out for its use of grotesque masks and a large line-up of nine members. Led by vocalist Corey Taylor and percussionist Shawn Crahan, the collective combines its very own vision of metal with experimental elements, creating a sound that manages to be as visceral and intense as it is ear-splitting. Their eponymous 1999 debut album catapulted them to global success and 2001's «Iowa» cemented their reputation, revealing an even darker, heavier sound that reflected the emotional turmoil of an entire generation.
