Judas Priest

Standard-bearers of heavy metal for more than five decades, JUDAS PRIEST return to Portugal to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the classic «Painkiller»

Undisputed icons of heavy metal, JUDAS PRIEST are coming to the EVILLIVE FESTIVAL to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the legendary «Painkiller», an album that marked a revolution in their sound and consolidated the band's status in the history of heavy music. Released on 3 September 1990, the album took metal to new heights with its intense production, explosive riffs and, of course, Rob Halford's legendary voice. Produced by Chris Tsangarides, «Painkiller» was also the band's first album to feature drummer Scott Travis, who brought them renewed energy, and it brought an era to a close, being the last one they released before Halford's temporary departure, who would only return in 2003. Formed in 1969 in Birmingham, UK, JUDAS PRIEST have influenced generations with their powerful sound and striking aesthetic. That's why this celebration of «Painkiller» is not only a tribute to an iconic album, but also to the lasting legacy of one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time.
