Led by the intrepid Tatiana Shmayluk, Ukrainians JINJER come to EVILLIVE FESTIVAL to show why they are one of the most prominent proposals in contemporary progressive metal
JINJER have become known for their very personal vision of progressive metal, which is based on a mixture of metalcore and groove metal, with influences ranging from jazz to reggae. Formed in 2009, the band solidified its line-up the following year with the addition of vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk, whose vocal versatility, alternating between intense gutturals and crystalline melodies, is one of the group's trademarks. Released in 2014, their debut «Cloud Factory» paved the way for them to be recognised on a global scale, but it was with its successor, «King Of Everything», and the infectious single «Pisces», that they achieved greater prominence, thanks in no small part to an approach that was as dynamic as it was emotive. Later records, such as the acclaimed «Macro» and «Wallflowers», stood out for their technical complexity and colossal groove, combined with introspective lyrics that addressed personal themes and social issues. Since the outbreak of war in Ukraine two years ago, JINJER have also become an active voice on political issues, continuing to perform around the world and supporting their country. With a powerful stage presence and an innovative sound, today they are already one of the most relevant bands in contemporary metal.
