One of the cornerstones of Bay Area thrash metal, veterans DEATH ANGEL bring their 'old school' flare to the EVILLIVE FESTIVAL
Hailing from San Francisco, California, DEATH ANGEL are a product of the Bay Area's hectic thrash scene of the 80s. Combining the great speed of the guitar duo with a technical skill that would make many of their competitors envious, the young musicians created their own vision of the trend, full of time changes and complicated arrangements. Today, they are considered one of the “big eight” of the genre, alongside Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Testament, Exodus and Overkill. Formed in 1982, the group achieved underground success with their first two albums, «The Ultra-Violence» and «Frolic Through The Park», from 1997 and 1988 - before plunging into the mainstream with «Act III», from 1989. They ceased operations in the early 1990s, but returned to the scene in 2001 and have not stopped touring and recording new music since, releasing LPs such as «The Art Of Dying», «The Dream Calls For Blood», «The Evil Divide» or «Humanicide», which earned them a Grammy nomination in 2019.
